Stewart on the water in Antarctica with the research vessel Laurence M. Gould behind him

ABOUT / THE PERSON BEHIND ROLLING SWELLS

Hi, I'm Stewart.

An engineer, ocean enthusiast, and maker with a passion for exploring some of the world’s most remote places.

Remote places.
Real stories.

Over the past decade I’ve spent much of my career working at sea and in isolated environments. I spent five years aboard the Sea-Based X-Band Radar (SBX) in the North Pacific, a year supporting science in Antarctica, and several years living and working on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands.

These experiences gave me the opportunity to explore extraordinary ships, landscapes, and ocean environments that few people ever get to see firsthand.

02 / BENEATH THE SURFACE

Always looking
a little deeper.

Outside of work, I’m fascinated by all things marine. I’m an avid scuba diver and enjoy marine biology, underwater exploration, and a variety of ocean-related projects ranging from ROVs and underwater camera systems to documenting and identifying local marine life.

Whether I’m exploring a coral reef, studying bathymetric data, or learning about a new species, I’m always looking for ways to better understand the world beneath the waves.

03 / FROM EXPERIENCE TO OBJECT

Where the story
takes shape.

Rolling Swells combines those passions with my background in engineering, 3D modeling, and 3D printing. Many of my designs are inspired by the ships, islands, and ocean environments I’ve experienced throughout my career.

My goal is to create unique, detailed pieces that help bring these remarkable places to life and allow others to share in the stories they tell.

Thank you for visiting, and I hope you enjoy these creations as much as I’ve enjoyed designing them.
